St. George Hospital Cryogenic Storage Unit
Hyve Designs played a pivotal role in assessing the feasibility of integrating a new cryogenic tank into St. George Hospital’s Cryogenic Storage Unit, nestled within the BMT lab. This project involved transforming an existing area to smoothly incorporate the new equipment and support its intended operations.
The main goal was to conduct a thorough structural evaluation to ensure the existing infrastructure could effectively accommodate the new cryogenic tank.
St. George Children’s Cancer Ward Fairy Garden
St. George Hospital, renowned for its provision of health services in Southern Sydney and its role as a principal teaching hospital affiliated with the University of New South Wales, embarked on an inspiring initiative. Recognizing the potential of an unused rooftop area, the hospital explored the creation of a rooftop garden sanctuary tailored for the well-being of sick children. In pursuit of this vision, Hyve Designs was entrusted with providing structural advice and collaborating closely with the architect.
Our mission was to seamlessly integrate architectural and engineering elements, ensuring that the rooftop haven became a nurturing environment for young patients amidst their medical journeys.
St. George Hospital Belgrave Carpark
The St. George Hospital Belgrave Carpark stands tall with five above-ground stories, offering a spacious parking facility boasting a total capacity of 2,100 parking spaces. Hyve Designs took on the responsibility of designing temporary protective hoarding, ensuring safety and aesthetics during the interim period before the commencement of remedial works.
The structure was designed to maximise capacity within a constrained hospital precinct, with careful attention to traffic flow, durability, and integration with surrounding health infrastructure.
Prince of Wales Hospital Carpark
Hyve Designs provided structural and civil engineering support for the multi-storey carpark at Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick. Our involvement included slab, column, and ramp design, stormwater coordination, and traffic circulation input. The design prioritised durability, accessibility, and integration with surrounding hospital infrastructure.
