SES Strathfield Compound
Hyve Designs was commissioned to enhance the SES Strathfield Compound by proposing an extension (Stage 2) to accommodate an additional bay for the existing shed at the SES Strathfield Unit.
The structural scope of this project entailed the construction of a new 3m x 3m x 3m steel frame extension seamlessly integrated with the existing SES shed as part of Stage 2.
BINGO Recycling Ecology Park, Eastern Creek
BINGO Industries provides essential recycling and waste management services to households and businesses, significantly reducing landfill waste and promoting sustainability.
Hyve Designs was responsible for designing key infrastructure elements including the gantry for signals and signage, hardstand and pavement slabs, custom cable pits for the modular substation, a preliminary pump and fuel station, and footings for weighbridges and modular offices. Additionally, we developed new footings for existing weighbridge structures.
Weston Aluminium Smelter
The Weston Aluminium recycling plant recently completed a significant upgrade project, which included the installation of a new furnace and the replacement of an old one. The enhancements featured the addition of walkways for safe access, advanced electrical busbars, durable furnace plinths, and robust concrete pavements.
These improvements have increased production capacity, enhanced efficiency, and bolstered sustainability, thereby reducing the environmental impact and ensuring a safer working environment. Hyve Designs was responsible for the industrial pavement design, along with the detailed concrete plinths, foundations, and other support structures.
Waynote Place Industrial Lot, Unanderr
Hyve Designs led the full engineering design for a 49-unit commercial and light industrial development at Waynote Place, delivering a structural solution that prioritised durability, cost-efficiency, and constructability. The design combined precast concrete panels with a steel framing system to streamline installation and reduce on-site labour time.
Hyve provided integrated structural, civil, and stormwater documentation, ensuring seamless coordination from concept through to construction. The result is a functional, future-proof asset tailored for multi-tenant industrial use.
BP Station, Somersby
Hyve Designs was engaged to provide structural and civil engineering services for a new BP service station development in Somersby. Our scope included slab and footing design, canopy structure coordination, and stormwater drainage layout tailored to the site’s topography and vehicular access needs.
The design prioritised durability, ease of construction, and compliance with fuel handling standards, supporting the efficient delivery of a high-traffic retail and refuelling facility.
Boarding House, Coffs Harbour
Hyve Designs provided comprehensive structural engineering services for a multi-storey boarding house development in Coffs Harbour. Our scope included detailed markups for beam and column layouts, multi-level slab design, and structural solutions tailored to site-specific earthquake loading requirements.
The project also incorporated wall steel bracing systems, spring concrete beams, and integrated service coordination. Hyve delivered civil and stormwater design, including carpark grading and drainage, ensuring full compliance and constructability across the residential facility.
Tellace Wines Homestead
Hyve Designs delivered the full conceptual and engineering design for a luxury rural retreat in the Hunter Valley, encompassing hilltop, lakeside, and ridge villas, along with glamping accommodation, ancillary structures, and a high-end restaurant/function centre. The project also included a wellness centre and social hub, carefully integrated into the landscape to balance premium guest experience with constructability and long-term performance.

The Boathouse Cafe, Balmoral Beach
Hyve Designs was engaged to conduct a structural adequacy inspection for the iconic Boathouse Café at Balmoral Beach. The assessment focused on verifying the structural integrity of existing building elements and identifying any areas requiring remediation or reinforcement.
Our team provided a detailed inspection report outlining compliance with current standards and offering practical recommendations to support the café’s continued safe operation in a coastal environment.
Family Cafe, Nowra Showgrounds
Hyve Designs delivered structural design services for the new family café at Nowra Showgrounds, including the kitchen, café area, judges box, and balustrade. The design accounted for site-specific wind loads on masonry walls, lightweight roofing systems, and connection details such as nailplates and timber beams.
Our team also provided slab and footing design tailored to the site’s geotechnical conditions, ensuring stability, safety, and compliance across all built elements within this community-focused venue.
UNSW UniLodge
Hyve Designs was engaged to undertake a structural adequacy inspection of the brickwork at Unilodge, located within the University of New South Wales campus. The assessment focused on evaluating the condition, performance, and load-bearing capacity of existing structural brick elements.
